Rezaul H Laskar Islamabad, Aug 26 (PTI) A top US diplomat today escaped unhurt in an attack by unidentified gunmen while she was going to office in her armoured vehicle in Pakistan's restive northwestern region. Lynne Tracy, Principal Officer in the US Consulate in Peshawar, was attacked by the gunmen in the University Town area of the capital of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), police said.
Tracy escaped unhurt in the attack, which was condemned by the Foreign Ministry. No group claimed responsibility for the attack...

NODIK,We as a nation are the biggest importers of paper scrap,which is contracted in dubai n routed from other nations
Other than this we import lot of pulp too n newspaper is a product of recycled paper only
Its a very big industry in itself
we dont have natural resources for producing the supirior quality of paper through pulp n definitely have to import
With the introduction of computers,we were perhaps assured of less use of stationary but i has rather gone up
I share my concern with you n call upon ppl to conserve natural resources n dont fell trees n find alternate source of paper...

Do you have any knowhow of making recycled paper from waste or anything converting waste scrap or any other waste material into usable material. This will greatly help preserve our natural resourses from depletion & keep our environ rather more liveable as you have aired a shocking senario of 17 trees destroyed for making a ton of paperIt is time we start recycling all waste, before we end up with nothing. Waiting to hear from you.

I was looking bit independently
1 WB need this project for economy,jobs
Income etc etc
2 What went wrong?Mamta found an issue
or genuinely feels it is bad formers
3Issue 400 acres of land
4 The way Mamta and Buddha reacting against each other ,no solution for another decade
5 It has become ego issue for Both
6 Unless a win -win formula found the project is dead and he fallout for WB is going to be severe
Suggestion
If the farmers who owns the land can be made share holders according to land value,then it can be inclusive growth
which we are talking about
We know many companies acquired lands thru govt and increased their asset values,some became sick and made money out of selling these lands
But the guy who gave the land (taken away)will remain poor for ever
When the land prices are booming in our economy,Why leave this chap behind and poor?
Tatas are a great company and shown great social responsibility,i am sure they can come out with a formula that
can bring wealth to the farmers
"I Take all" is not going to work here
and with lot of projects coming all over India,the present policy will fail
So treat the land as his investment and give him equity(since the farmers gets some cash,A formula with mixture of cash and equity can be worked out
In this process every body wins

Four people have been arrested in Denver amid fears of a plot to kill Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama, a local report said on Monday.
Denver-based CBS34 said one of the men arrested had told authorities they were \"going to shoot Obama from a high vantage point using ... a rifle ... sighted at 750 yards (meters).\"
The shooting was supposed to happen on Thursday when Obama will accept the nomination as the Democratic Party\'s presidential candidate for the November elections at the 75,000-seat Invesco stadium, the television station reported.
One man was arrested on Sunday after police found two high-powered rifles in a rented pick-up truck he was driving, it added.
Another man arrested was reported to be wearing a swastika and was thought to have links to white supremacist groups.
The US Attorney\'s Office in Denver has scheduled a press conference on Tuesday to discuss the incident, but Attorney Troy Eid told local media he did not believe there was a threat to Obama.
\"We\'re aware of the matter discussed tonight by the Aurora Police Department,\" Eid said in a statement quoted by the Rocky Mountain News daily.
\"Federal law enforcement is working hand-in-glove with the Aurora Police Department. Because this matter is currently under investigation, there is little we can say right now.
\"We can say this: We\'re absolutely confident there is no credible threat to the candidate, the Democratic National Convention, or the people of Colorado.\"
The alleged plot was being investigated by the Secret Service, which is in charge of coordinating security for the Democratic Party convention as well as the FBI and the joint terrorism task force.
