Odd One Out

Hi,
The other day i went to the office
There was a power point presentation by
a life insurance Company
The audience consist both men and women
After a good presentation on the benefits
etc of life insurance,The speaker asked
Who all agree life policy is necessary
Every body raised their hand
Then he asked,who all would like to have the policy
All men raised the hand
The surprised speaker asked the women,why not?
Most of them said that their husband have Policy,so they don`t need one
Why?
Is it because most wifes think,they are going to out live their husband?
Interesting i never thought about this last 35 years...

With the bilateral agreements with the US and France in place, India will now step up commercial negotiations for import of nuclear reactors and fuel with firms from France, Russia, US and other countries.
The US estimates that 3,000 to 5,000 direct jobs and 10,000 to 15,000 indirect jobs would be created and billions of dollars generated for US firms with just two reactor contracts. Estimates on the kind of business that is likely to be generated by the nuclear deal range up to $100 billion for the next 10 years.
We are expecting 60,000 megawatts of electricity to be developed from nuclear source and that would be 97 billion euro. You can imagine how much of business it will create. In the second phase, 27% of India’s electricity needs will come from nuclear power. The size of the business can be best estimated by the quantum of energy,’’ said Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) secretary general Amit Mitra. He said the sheer size of business opportunities would ensure that business would be attracted to the civilian nuclear sector.

Samuel Butler said what he said because that was what he believed, He was one among the majority who believe.
And your question as to what i believe in, it really confused me, I am not too sure, may be its relationships that i believe in.It may sound a bit silly, but this is what i could come up with. My mom always tells me that its relationships that are the most important aspect of life. But she also tells me that I should start believing in God or I may get kicked out of the house some day.Lol
And I dont know why but i seem to have created an impression of a sullen, angry sort of guy on MMB. But I guess its ok, its kind of nice to be known differently from your actual self....Change is nice:D

I dont know if diplomacy is desirable trait to have. One never knows where they (diplomatic persons) stand.
If you expect a diplomatic person (friend) to take your side, when you are sure that you are right, you'll be shocked to find them saying 'hem, errr, well' and making diplomatic noises. That's their net worth - they're worth nothing where it matters.
Its better to take a stand even if it is the most absurd position one can imagine.

If you are sure, then how did you reach that conclusion? Did you (personally) see it as a sphere?
Again do you believe that all matter is made of atoms? Do you believe in the sub-atomic particles (electrons, protons, mesons, quarks whatever)? If you believe that, then how did you arrive at this world-view?

Thanks for the reply.. And glad to confirm that what you wrote has experience as a basis.
I do not read much these days... Will send a PM... I respect and appreciate the sanctity of certain topics/experiences, as even I can't share a lot of things even in a PM on MMB (as the MODs and even some hackers may be able to read those.. and have reasons to believe some boarders love hacking :-)

I agree with what you have stated in your first paragraph. That is why i said, with a little bit of background one can get the idea. When i said background, i meant one's own experience because in spirituality there is nothing you can gain by reading and listening - it is only through experiencing...and this matter essentially pertains to spirituality...
Soul's Absolute wisdom as well as lack of awareness of its own Self through the life are both the reasons...thats why i said 'somewhat' correct....i am sorry i have certain constraints - with regard to the sanctity of the matter and i can't go further on these subjects.
Yes, we have a recorded pattern of behaviour but this uphill task of changing that can be done by a Spiritual Guru of Calibre....i am a living proof of such a changed product...anyway, once again, this is something i will be able to discuss only one to one.
When i interact with Mr Singh, i keep to the minimum questions and explanations possible, because he needs time to get into the depth of these matters. I dont go into many concepts..only ask him basic questions and prod him on so to get the feelers... I can assure you what i hold is much more than belief on concepts...and it is faith borne out of repeated experience.(not in miracles, nothing in materialsm)....
I agree with you 100 percent, we have to live with full awareness in the current moment, because current moment is here and now....and He is here and now.
Anything you name on spiritual matters, purely spiritual, i would love to read ....
