Bharti took the lead by unlocking value in its tower arm, Infratel, in a billion dollar transaction. This showed the way for others like Reliance Communication and Idea to also divest stakes.

But the power of these towers are all set to multiply. Their valuations set to jump.

The new 3G policy and the soon-to-be finalised MVNO recommendations would mean there will be many new tenants for these critical backbone support.

A case in point is Tata Teleservices, which has been looking to divest 49 per cent stake in its tower company. Its price expectations have gone up from its earlier valuation of .5 billion for 8000 towers.

Well, i-phone from Apple my have some disadvantages in the indian context, especially in the biginnig of soon to be launched 3G services till the time a competitive environment is built for better services and handset providers. As such the role of 3G SHOULD NOT BE OVEREMPHASISD.2G is still a breadwinner for Bharti and will remain so for the largest GSM player in the country at least in the medium term, with no significant challenge from its competitors....

What will you expect from a 3G phone? Video conferencing or high speed wireless Internet? We do want both. But this latest toy just work for high speed Internet. There is no front camera for video conferencing, too bad!

More drawbacks below:

no MMS – Not even better than a old age phone.

no Video Recording – Ha? Unless third party application.

no front camera – it’s 3G, but no video conferencing.

Volume - my goodness in bus or on the road I bet you you will never ever be able to hear the ring sound.

Speaker phone - will never ever be able to talk on speaker on as its got one speaker whose volume is so low that it cant be heard from a distance of 10 cm.

no A2DP Bluetooth – Can’t listen stereo music via bluetooth.

still using old 2M pixels Camera.

Guys dont spend unneccessary if it does'nt fullfill your basic requirement of a phone.

Anyways I too had one, the 8GB, which im gifting it to my niece (3yr old) as its more of a toy than a Phone.

Hi All,

Customer care is an important aspect of any buissness but Mr. Mittal seems to have forgotten that. Inspite of submitting documents more than twice, calling up customer care centre more than 10 times, shouting on them, visiting their centres more than thrice they still haven\\`t activated the phone and are persistent on saying they will not return the money. On top of it they are saying if u don\\`t want to loose ur money buy the duplicate card within 15 days else.

It\\`s an harrasment beyond toleration.

I think Airtel has become too big for Mr. Mittal to handle.

May i request everyone who has gone through harrasment by Airtel to write to Deparment of telecom and TRAI, requesting for cancellation of bharti\\`s telecom license as they are uncapable of running it.

If Mr. Mittal doesn\\`t correct things and compensate the affected people, then may he be cursed to loose all that he has gained. And let this be a lesson to other telecom players

Bharti is failing in providing service to customers. I think TRAI should encourage new companies to venture in.

With poor customer support i am doubtful how far airtel can go. Its time for Rcom to wake up....
