Both are very good stock in themselves. I prefer L&T it has lots of subsidaries whose value unlocking can really push the stock proces thru roof. They had plans to list L&T Infotech for example. Or even better any demerger activity and/or investments they have and booking out some profit for e.g. Satyam / Banglore Airport etc....

both r very good stocks ...But lnt is better if u r a long term investor ready to wait for 3 yrs ...lnt shd give u better returns...
