Aghora III THE LAW OF KARMA by Roberts Svobodha might interest you... he offers a perspective on karma the bombay racetrack as the backdrop.... lol.. very interesting... how winning a mount twice can corrupt a jockey...and so on.... he actually tries to cheat karma and offers glimpses into how to cheat your karma.. i marvel at his imagination.. lol lol... he says there is an ethereal being called VIDHATA (FATE) that works his way in your life using 9 ethereal entities viz the nine planets.... intersting read if you care for such books.. or if u silently allow karma to play its role then ur wise and there is no need for such books... such books are only for those guys who wont resign to their fates.. inspite of the best attempts if something fails ITS KARMA... to such folks this book is an eyeopener and this books would offer the required solace and comfort.. lol ...

dear radhika,
AND ALSO that all, without any exception, enjoy good health and happiness, by the Grace of God and let there be plenty of food and prosperity.
LOKAH SAMASTHA SUKHINO BHAVANTHU !
While observing or performing the upavasa, vratha, puja etc. the yajamana (person who actually peforms or officiates) prays for prosperity of all. This is the tradition. The bhava behind the ritual should be understood. When every person prays all in the world get the benefit.
When Sri Krishna accepted a particle of food from Drowpathi\\`s akshaya pathra, did not all feel their stomach full. HE IS VASUDEVA, ONE IN ALL AND ALL IN ONE.
Glad you performed the Naga panchami - best wishes to you.

yes sarva jana sukhino bhavanthu thats how a true prayer should end.... pleasing the lord with devotion is equivalent to feeding 100s of people it meant.. coz this durvasa had a black tongue... all his curses would come true... everybody was frigthened of him.... when he said he is visiting draupadi she was naturally scared... he came at a time when they had just finished their lunch... and guess what draupadi had washed clean all the utensils but there was one tulsi leaf stuck to the vessel and with it kanhaya created magic and even before they could come for lunch durvasa was already burping and belching at the river... he was satiated even before he could actually partake lunch... this is called Lila...and none else than His...

Italian co in talks with Tata for military aircraft?
Italian firm Alenia Aeronautica, one of the partner companies of the Eurofighter consortium, is in talks with Tata group to promote the possible sale of a tactical transport aircraft and anti-submarine warfare aircraft for the Indian defence forces.
Alenia Aeronautica, which has already signed an MoU with the Tatas, is negotiating a marketing and industrial co-operation agreement to promote the C-27J Spartan tactical transport and ATR 42/72 anti-submarine warfare aircraft to the Indian services, a leading aviation journal said.
If the negotiations are successful, the MoU will be converted into a true contract, 'The Flight International' said.
When contacted, a Tata spokesperson neither confirmed nor denied the report, saying "we would not like to comment on the matter."
Alenia has offered Tata some industrialisation tools for the C-27J under the initiative, which is aimed at offering the twin-turboprop design to the Indian Air Force "in case current efforts to co-operatively develop a new Multi Role Transport Aircraft (MRTA) by Hindustan Aeronautics and Irkut fail", the report said.
The MRTA programme, which is a development of the Ilyushin Il-214 twin-turbofan with a maximum cargo capacity of around 18-20t, has faced numerous troubles in recent years, it said, adding that it was "still not clear whether the project will be finalised".

In an editorial in the forthcoming issue of People's Democracy, CPI(M) pointed out that a similar decision in 2005 to rescind the order of transferring forest land to Amarnath Shrine Board did not create any controversy. HENCE, the CPI (M)has concluded that the present controversy has been the creation of Sangh Parivar since the earlier decision of 2005 did not create any trouble. What a logic!

ASEAN to sign trade pact with India in December
BANGKOK (Reuters) - Ten Southeast Asian countries will sign a free trade pact with India in December to cut import tariffs on goods, but not services or investment, a senior Thai official said on Friday.
"The pact will take effect by the middle of next year as each country needs time to implement the legislation," Chana Kanaratanadilok, deputy director general of the Commerce Ministry's Trade Negotiation Department, said.
The deal, which has been pending since last year, would be inked when leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) met in December in Bangkok, Chana said.
Annual trade between ASEAN and India currently totals $28 billion, a figure that officials hope will rise under the pact.
Negotiations were bogged down for a year over a list of 1,400 "sensitive items" proposed by India that was eventually whittled down to 400, Chana said. Most items on the list related to agriculture or textiles.
New Delhi has agreed to cut import tariffs to around 5 percent from around 30 percent now and committed to gradually phasing them out altogether within a few years, he said.
Most ASEAN import tariffs, which now average 10 percent, would drop to around 5 percent, Chana said. Once the pact is in place, officials will start talks on liberalising service sectors, such as finance, telecommunications and investment, he said.
The ASEAN comprises Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. ...
