Dear Mr. Sourabh Kundu,

When you have to write a web address you just leave a space like the following and it works.

http: // ami-kye . blogspot . com/2008/11/dada-straight-from-bat . html

In the end you ask the receiver to delete the spaces in between....

Looking at the strengths and background on which indian economy stands, the growth of indian economy is sustainable minimum @7% per annum. Although their is recession all over the world and india is bound to be affected by this recession because India is open for the globalized world . But this affect would not be as much as it affect other part of the world due to strong fundamentals of Indian economy. The strong fundamentals is evident from the fact that none of the Indian company of any sector has shown negative growth in the last quarter, albeit their is slowdown in that growth but today what matter is positive growth in this situation. None of the Indian company has retrenched their employees and expansion plans of the companies are also going on smoothly. This all shows that the fundamentals of Indian econmoy is very strong and India will bounce back and achieve the target of 11th five year plan in the coming years....

I absolutely concur with you. I had posted this message in response to Mr.Mehrboon Irani`s view yesterday.

"I believe Mr. Irani is right in suggesting what to look for to confirm a final bottom. It\\\\`s when volatility comes down and Volumes comes down. The bears market is supposed be the opposite of Bull Market. So one must have seen that when we were at 21000, we were almost regularly hitting Rs.1,00,000 cr. turnover. That was because every Tom, Dick, Harry, Saas, Bahu were playing the market. In the Bear Market the opposite should happen i.e. all those who had no business to be playing in the stock market as traders need to go back to where they belong. When they go out finally, with the heavy heart saying that now there isn\\\\`t anything left in the market to make money from, when we reach that absolute gloomy scenario that everyone says ok, I have had enough, let me go back to my main occupation and earn a living from there, that is the time when market will bottom out - which will be reflected in quite thin volumes for few months ( from 2-6 months) and far less volatility and very narrow Nifty range of 10-15%."

Searching for direction in the market?

Posted by : tektrader

LOST ARE THE ONES WHO ARE STILL SEARCHING FOR A DIRECTION, there has only been one direction since 18thJan 2008 and that is down,
Many esteemed boarders here have been crying hoarse and unsucessfully trying to put a bottom on the markets first at 18000, then 14500-15000, then 12000 and then 10000, alas those who followed them at any point have all lost money.
Consider this, From here the mkts have to gain more then 20% to reach 12000, and a whopping 50% to reach 15000... cannot see the mkts doing that in a hurry, ask yourself this before investing ... do you see mkts making up that kind of lost ground with present market sentiments, with most of the measures that had to be announced behind us and markets having discounted all of them one by one, without faltering in its downward stride, in fact gathering more steam.
Markets will turn only when people will give up all hopes on the mkts, people will stop tuning in to business channels, pink paper circulation will dwindle, and fall in the markets will stop becoming a front page news.Markets will try out the patience of one and all,
people who are bottom fishing now will also have burnt their fingers and given up Then and only then the mkts will turn ... now will it be at 7000 or 6500 or 5000 is any body`s guess...

DLF stalls projects, retrenches staff

DLF, the country`s largest real estate company, today said that it has deferred several residential, hotel and commercial projects and retrenched an unspecified number of staff due to the lack of demand for housing.

DLF Chairman K P Singh said the real estate sector would witness massive job losses unless steps were taken to boost housing demand by reducing the rate of interest on home loans to around 7 per cent.

Singh said the real estate sector supports the livelihood of many people and stalled projects meant people will lose their jobs. He added that his company may have laid off some people, but did not give any numbers. Other developers like Unitech and Parsvnath Developers are also reported to have retrenched staff in the recent past.

Singh`s remarks, made on the sidelines of the India Economic Summit organised by the World Economic Forum, come at a time when there are reports of real estate firms laying off employees, as part of their cost-cutting drive.

Developers have been facing liquidity crunch for over a year now. One of the reasons for this is the high risk weightage for bank loans to real estate and the ban on them from borrowing funds overseas.

However, the government has asked developers to slash prices of their projects to boost demand in the sector. Singh said the lack of demand has already led to lower prices.

Meanwhile, Crisil has lowered its rating on DLF`s non-convertible debenture programme and long-term bank facilities to AA-/Stable from AA/Stable. The rating agency said the revision was prompted by a weakening of the company`s debt protection measures and higher-than-expected gearings.

The weakening was on account of higher debt funding of receivables from DLF Assets (DAL) and increased payments made for land.

The rating agency said it may revise its outlook on DLF to `negative` if the receivables from DAL increase significantly beyond current levels. Conversely, the outlook may be revised to `positive` if there is a significant improvement in the company’s capital structure and debt protection measures.

Crisil`s rating derives support from the company’s policy of reducing its gearing to about 0.5 times. "These rating strengths are partially offset by the risks and cyclicality inherent to the real estate sector, DLF’s aggressive plans of diversification into non-real-estate businesses, and the high levels of receivables from DAL," said Crisil

Reliance Haryana SEZ, the company developing a 5,000-hectare special economic zone in Gurgaon and Jhajjar districts of Haryana has retrenched some employees.

"We have discontinued or replaced certain contractual staff, total number not exceeding double digits, in the North India operations involved in activities under the discretionary cost head," a Reliance Industries spokesperson said in reply to an e-mailed query sent by Business Standard.

According to some employees, who claimed to have been retrenched, the number of laid-off people is much higher. However, the company denies this.

Reliance Haryana SEZ is a joint venture between Reliance Ventures and the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation.

The lay-offs have come in the midst of similar measures being taken by other firms, mainly in the financial sector, which have been hit hard by the liquidity crunch and market meltdown.

Sources close to the development indicated that plans to develop the zone has been put on the back-burner temporarily.

According to an RIL spokesperson, the development work of the SEZ is yet to begin and the company is still procuring land.

The SEZ, which is a tax-free industrial enclave, was to be originally built in more than 10,000 hectares.

But in April 2007, following protests against land acquisition for certain zones in Maharashtra and West Bengal, an empowered group of ministers had put a maximum limit on the size of the zones, which were not to exceed 5,000 hectares.

Subsequently, the group decided to allow conditional relaxation to zones on a case-by-case basis. The RIL zone has been facing problems in completing land procurement process, as land owners in the area have been demanding more compensation.

NEW DELHI: To arrest the high rate of attrition in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the Government is working out a plan to allow recruitment of scientists on a “contract” basis instead of regular employment to augment its human resources.

The contract scheme is also aimed at attracting NRI scientists employed in research agencies abroad to DRDO, which at present has workforce of over 7,000 scientists.

“The Government is currently considering a proposal from the DRDO to allow recruitment of scientists on a five-year contract. This will help improve the manpower shortage levels in the scientific agency,” top DRDO officials told PTI on Tuesday. With DRD O reporting resignations from 785 scientists in the last three months, the attrition rate, officials admit, is quite high. The government had also stated that 1,159 junior level scientists had left the DRDO in the last five years. – PTI

Dirty Jobs That Pay Well

Dealing with death, bodily fluids, and foot problems may not be the most pleasant experiences, but if your ick tolerance is pretty high, the pay for these jobs can make it worth getting your hands dirty.

Curious about how your own salary stacks up? Compare your salary with those of the eight jobs listed below.

1. Veterinarian
Median annual salary*: $73,621

Puppies and kittens are cute, but their bodily fluids? Not so much. Veterinarians diagnose and treat the dysfunctions and diseases of animals, but, according to Megan Lantz, registered veterinary technician at Northwest Veterinary Hospital in Seattle, sometimes working with animals can seem like a "flash flood of poop."

"A strong stomach is definitely needed in this field," Lantz says.

2. Waste Management Engineer
Median annual salary: $67,249

Waste is a thankfully nondescript way to refer to the materials that waste disposal managers have to think about and deal with every day. Whether it be garbage, hazardous substances or human waste, these brave individuals must devise ways to dispose of that waste or reduce its volume.

3. Trauma Surgeon
Median annual salary: $273,160

Trauma surgeons are exposed to plenty of blood and guts, while treating patients who have been critically injured, but Dr. John Morris, professor of surgery at Vanderbilt University, wouldn`t use the word "gross" to describe his job.

"When I see people who are severely injured, my response isn`t `that`s ugly.` I look at it as a challenge to the skills I`ve developed over the years."

4. Coroner
Median annual salary: $52,072

Death is a fact of life, but for people in this field, it`s also an integral part of every workday. Coroners investigate death to determine cause. They perform autopsies, conduct interviews, conduct pathological and toxicological analyses, and investigate circumstances of death. They may also testify at hearings and trials.

5. Certified Nurse Midwife
Median annual salary: $81,015

Babies are beautiful, but birth is another story. The sight of a baby emerging from its mother`s womb is both awe-inspiring and, let`s face it, a little gross. With home births on the rise, midwives, who oversee prenatal care as well as assist mothers with delivery, are in higher demand.

6. Podiatrist
Median annual salary: $118,665

For podiatrists, dealing with diseases and deformities of the foot is no sweat, but if feet gross you out or if you suffer from podophobia (the fear of feet), this job could give you the heebie jeebies.

7. Oil Drill Worker
Median annual salary: $55,806

With gas prices on the rise in the U.S., oil is certainly a booming industry. But, working in the oil fields can be a dirty, and sometimes dangerous, job. Drillers set up or operate a variety of drills to remove petroleum products from the earth and to find and remove core samples for testing during oil and gas exploration.

8. Gastroenterologist
Median annual salary: $239,622

Performing colonoscopies might not be your cup of tea, but for some, it`s a living. When Dr. Michael Kreines, gastroenterologist at the Ohio Gastroenterology & Liver Institute, was exploring specialties in medical school, he steered clear of gastroenterology. "It just seemed really unappealing," he says.

But as a resident, Kreines was taken under the wing of a gastroenterologist who showed him just how interesting the field could be. "We help people with a wide variety of intestinal and digestive issues that are actually quite interesting and challenging," says Kreines.

Lucknow (PTI): Accusing Congress of trying to pit "Hindu terrorism" against "Islamic terrorism", the BJP on Tuesday warned rpt warned such a move would push the country to brink of a civil war.

Addressing a traders` rally here, BJP president Rajnath Singh alleged that "to divert the attention of people from its failure to tackle terror, Congress is coining terms like `Muslim terrorism` and `Hindu terrorism` and added "please do not push the country to the brink of a civil war."

He said BJP has never associated terrorism with any caste, creed or community and reiterated that terror should not be linked to any particular religion.

Later addressing a press conference, Singh asked the UPA government whether it wanted to pit "Hindu terrorism" against "Islamic terrorism" in order to serve its political interests.

"It is most unfortunate that neither Congress nor any of the so-called secular parties have condemned forces who have coined the term Hindu terrorism and I want to ask whether this government is out to pit Hindu terrorism against Islamic terrorism to serve their political interests", Singh said.

"BJP has never communalised terrorism as it believed it should not be attached to any caste or religion," Singh said adding the mentality of some politicians has been communalised for vote bank politics.

First it was BJP president Rajnath Singh who openly defended the Malegaon blast accused. But after avoiding any comments on the controversy all these weeks, on Tuesday for the first time, the party`s prime ministerial candidate, LK Advani openly came out in support of the main accused sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur.

Advani said that he was shocked and outraged by the way the sadhvi was being treated by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad. His statement has made the BJP`s NDA allies nervous.

"So far, I had refrained from commenting on the allegations leveled by the ATS against sadhvi Pragya and her supposed associates. But after going through her affidavit detailing how she was physically and psychologically tortured and abused in obscene language by her interrogators, I have to express my shock and outrage which I am sure all Indians will share," said L K Advani.

Influential sections of the NDA like the Janata Dal (United), which has already differed with the BJP over the Shiv Sena`s anti-Bihari campaign in Mumbai have once again distanced themselves from his statement.

"Terror has no religion, it does not matter, whether a terrorist is a Hindu or a Muslim. There should be an impartial inquiry into the sadhvi issue," said Nitish Kumar, chief minister, Bihar.

The Biju Janata Dal-BJP alliance has been under strain ever since anti-Christian violence broke out in Kandhmal. With the Orissa chief minister affirming his secular credentials, Advani`s statement could complicate matters further.

The Congress top leadership is also targeting the BJP over alleged right-wing Hindu terror groups.

Advani can counter the opposition. But his sudden shift on the sadhvi will seriously put to test Advani`s ability to carry along his own NDA, and further the Hindutva agenda of the Sangh Parivaar.

Now when elections are underway, the government is in shambles showing utter unworthiness to govern and protect patriotic people. Suddenly every single person arrested for terrorism is a saffron, a Hindu and nothing is appearing on the channels or in Sunday magazine features except the “grave danger of Hindu terrorism” and the army getting the saffron “tilak” of terror.

Even the Ghaznis, Ghauris and Abdalis haven`t done so much of character assassination of a majority community as this government has done just to garner a few Muslim votes.

Is it fair?

Will it not create a reaction among those who have been chanting mantras of global peace and fraternity and praying for the welfare of all, irrespective of faith or colour? Pushed to a corner, restricted from crying and blackholed like the Jews during the Nazi regime, will it not be a bit too naive to expect that Hindus will remain silent and offer their necks for the secular sacrificial ritual of election gains? Their temples are bombed, their children are killed, their property is looted, their orchards are burnt, their motherland is disfigured and assaulted, yet the state declares a war on their sensitivities, the media muffles their voice and bans all for a for them to express their views. On the contrary, it shows the victims as aggressors, humiliating them in the eyes of the real attackers.

Nature abhors such Siberian gags. Peace is strengthened by justice alone.

The way Pragya has suddenly become a hero must make sane people sit up and take note of the wave passing through the Hindu heartland. Tsunamis don`t send advance emails before they strike.

The invention of “Hindu terrorism” helped the government get out of a defensive shell and be extraordinarily active to crack a whip against “bad elements”.

It had never displayed this action-oriented thrill when the Delhi blasts occurred or the Jaipur blasts claimed more than 60 lives. No Maulana was arrested or caricatured in the media as the bloody green terror guru or ghastly Islamic terrorism.

No, they said, terror has no religion hence these blasts, though done with a holy book surrounded by AK47s, and long quotes from it to justify the blasts and the killings of Hindus shouldn`t be sourced to religion. These must not be explained away as Islamic terror, but just the work of some misguided people who are giving a bad name to a peaceful, brotherly way of worship.

Fine.

But when they see saffron, everyone loves to tie them with the speeding bus of law enforcement and constitutional propriety and beat them black and blue to prove a secular manliness of dhimmitude variety.

Pragya says she was tortured in police custody but no one took any notice of that. Why?

Even the most dreaded women criminals have been accorded human rights protection. Pragya is no criminal, she doesn`t advocate violence against the state, she is not a traitor, she doesn`t impose any kind of obscurantist code on women nor does she use acid, like Andarabi, to make other women fear her dictates. She has not said she is out to kill others to bring about any kind of religious order. But she is tortured and no one says it a gross violation of human rights. Is she not to be given the protection that every woman is entitled to?

Those who write against the nation, insult our heritage and support secession, get applauds and awards. But those who die for the nation and protect the civilisational flow are tortured in police custody.

That`s the brevity and power of a state that`s in reality headed by a woman and is being actually run by another.

More than 60,000 Hindus have been killed by Islamic jihadis, in the name of their religion and not a single Hindu stood up to say: Enough is enough, I will now see the wicked are punished and innocents are protected.

There is a list of more than 200 Hindu temples razed or desecrated in the Kashmir valley. No Hindu Kashmiri vowed to establish a Hindu terror group
to take revenge because the state apparatus has failed to provide them safety.

Seema, a six-year-old girl, was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood in Doda when Islamic terrorists came to her house in the thick of night at 2.30 am, woke up her father, mother and her 11-year-old brother, killing them after brutal torture. They used big knives to cut them into pieces.

Still no Hindu terror group was formed to teach them a lesson.

A two-and-a-half-year old boy who was crying for milk as his mother was shot dead by Islamic terrorists in Wandhama attracted the attention of the jihadis and the bullets silenced him too.

Even then, Hindus didn`t become terrorists.

The great socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia use to say – India has three dreams – Ram, Krishna and Shiva. The abodes, the principal temples of the global Hindus dedicated to these three dreams of India were destroyed and desecrated by Islamic invaders. Go to Google and see how the Shiva temple in Kashi has been turned into a mosque in such a style that the pillars of the old Hindu temple remain clearly visible to show Hindus that here was once the temple they used to worship, which has been converted into a mosque.

Yet for the last four centuries no Hindu has turned a terrorist to take revenge in Kashi.
