I agree with you boldy.Sincere investors need to sell in each rally. You see how it has moved recently in a narrow range even though broader NIFTY swinged from 4500 to 3800 to 4300bullish again. In contrast arvind volume is precipetously low indicating no more new investors are interested in this.Only badly bruised retail investors are selling their holding nuts and pieces thats why its so low and stayin 35 level.
Fundamentally megamart venture is nothing to say separately. It will take a lot more to sell that idea to indian consumers. In near future increased interest rate will affect it negetively as textile is capital intensive sector.

Management is excellent academically with MBA degrees.Denim demand is increasing in India and abroad and there are lots of suicidal cotton growers in India throwing their seasonal produce at rockbottom prices at arvind dumpyard. What more condition do you want to prosper a business better?
Everything looks perfect theoretically.Only problem is their accountant.Just before qtrly result they go for an overnight drinking bilge and next day churn out result one quarter with some profit and next quarter with major loss.LOLLLLLLLL...

Hi,
I am a long term invester and as the current price is almost half its book value and its a strong script, i want to invest in it.
Although before I do so, I wanted to know why the net profit, EPS and dividends droped for Arvind Mills in 2007?
Thanks,
Jagrit

GUEST,Cotton sowing this year ismuch less than the last year in states of MAHARASTR,GUJRAT,HARYANA,PUNJAB,ANDHRA etc;due to poor and untimely rain fall and its certain that price of cotton may harden
But i too understand that Arvind has longterm price contract with the farmers and have contract farming to,which will give it an advantage...

I feel that arvind mills is likely to see tough times a ahead, exports likely to be hit due to RBI policy framework of curbing liquidity thus indirectly impacting the rupee valuation aginst the dollar.
Any major expansion plans will be shelved due to high interest rate regime which would turn undermine the bootom line, its better I feel to sell on every rally and get out.
