targets. Nifty support of 2970 remains intact. But
may be delayed for a day or two due to CRR cut by RBI...

Your observation that Bear market always runs for 2-3
years seems to have no basis. Look at the following facts
relating to bear markets in India:

April 1992 to April 1993: 12 months, correction 56%
January 2004 to May 2004: 5 months, correction 32%
May 2006 to June 2006: 1 Month, correction 31%

Dear HLN, Based on whatever little I know , DOW cannot fall below 7000 - 7200 and sensex cannot fall below 8900 - 9000. So the bottom is not very far away both in DOW and Sensex. However all bear markets respect a saucer shaped index formation normally and the base building in sensex may take a much longer time in my opinion. The Fibo ratios suggest bear market from 16 to 77 months ( only this idea is courtesy BL of today)and so we may not see any meaningful recovery immediately in the next one or two months as you suggest. However I will be most happy to be proved totally wrong, if the indices go up rapidly making all the investors happy. Once again congrats for doing a wonderful job in MMB. The problems is most of the investors are bulls who like to go long ( including myself) and so TA specialists predicting bear markets cannot win popularity constests!!! When the bull markets start whenever they may , the number of hits you will have on MMB will increase tremendously. regards, wbuffett001...

i feel nifty may touch 3550-3650 in 1-2 days but after that again decline will start towards 2900-may be with in this week. this is my view it may go wrong also regards ...

dear hln, 2004 and 2006, also 2006 feb are all not bear market they are all corrections. bear markets once in 8yrs cycle means after 92 2000 after 2000 it is 2008 next one may be around 2016 thanks...

I expect that Sensex will surely touch 9000 till 16.10.2008 and then will start recovery. initially there may be sharp bounce and will retest this level of 9000 , there after may start establizing. Upmove not expected during 2008, however consolidation is expected in Nov & Dec in the range of 9000 -10000. the sentiments has so badly shaken that smart money will not return in the market so early. Let us see what happens ...

Dear HLN, Whoever watched DOW closely on Friday would not have been forgot the Volatility in the near term, It has Moved 1000 Points ( 7883 to 8901 )if you take the Top and bottom, and still finished 180 points lower than thursday... Let hope they have put a bottom at 7883 for good.. otherwise small investors will bleed......

dear hln, Pls dont compare the corrections in periods between Jan2004 to May 2004 and between May 2006 to June 2006 with the present crisis. 1)Markets excesses in terms of higher valuations were very limited in those preceeding rallies. 2)There was absolutely no liquidity crisis during those periods.The present liquidity crisis is second only to great depression in 1929. 3)There was no slow down fears in 2004 and 2006. 4)Indian economy`s growth engines IT and Realty were in full swing at that time and these two sectors are now on the verge of entering in to deep troubles with no foreseeable respite in the near future. 5)Next growth engine of Indian economy is going to be the spending on infrastructural facilities.But the mounting fiscal deficit is going to play spoiltsport and force the govt to defer spending on infrastructure. Pls remember that GDP expansion cant take place without capacity addition in infrastructural facilities like power, surface transportation and water facilities for domestic and industrial usage.For strange reasons govt had neglected these things in the past 4 years and nothing can be done in this area over night. 6)And the rapid drying up of liquidity will be another problem for the core economy. 7)post dotcom bust (8 years back), Markets were in dull phase till 2003.The present crisis by any means is more severe than that. Expecting any sustainable rally before 2010 can safely be ruled out. But yes.. after that one will see the mother of all rallies which India Inc witnessed so far ,taking the sensex to unforeseen levels by 2016 with one major correction in the intermediate period. That would be the life time opportunity for any active market participant to mint money. regards PS: The only relief in the immediate future is the expected commissioning of RIL`s KG basin project....
