However, I am developing a different view on present Tata Chemicals Management. Are they becoming too aggressive or are they under some kind of a pressure to meet investor expectations?.It is not one incident of a strike, but simultaneous incident of malfunctioning of a critical device in its Barbala plant, that is prompting me to think like this. I have the same suspicion and also this part of birlas is not known to be shareholder friendly and hence a lot of doubts and in fact , that its a birla share, is probabaly the reason why its still trading at 600... if this were say a tata stock and it was showing this kind of bottomline, it would be trading at rs.1300 by now

I am looking to buy this stock at around between rs.40 and rs.50... although if markets go bad, then there is a chance it might go to 30 even, a target set by angel broking at the time of listing of this stock.
Stock has a negative bias, so best to not buy but keep a close watch.

Stock is cheap presently, completely agree.. deserves atleast 15 PE and hence your fair price target makes good sense.

Oh yes.. thats true, my mistake...i was mistaking because these warrants worth 350 were selling at a premium of rs.110 approx till amount a month back.. hence my confusion.

I dont think ticl will opt for a bonus, but its balance sheet will look really nice after warrants are converted..no doubt share capital will increase and present shareholders stake will get diluted, but then it will bring a nice amount of cash into the books and make it probabaly debt free....hence higher returns..as it is, even at this rate, ticl is trading at very low PE and its book value as of dec 31st quarter was 760 , which will only increase coming end of this quarter.. i would suspect over rs.800.00

Its a very good stock to just hold and forget about and is probabaly better than buying any mutual fund.

Tata capital was in fact a part of ticl and only last year, was it liquidated by ticl, although i had hoped that it would not happen.
I highly doubt ticl is planning to become a bank.

the present upsurge has more to do with its warrants becoming eligible to be converted into equity shares at a price of rs.400 each.

What would change now is the debt part of its balance sheet and hopefully by next quarter, ticl will be debt free.
