Today`s investing Mantra - 25th Nov 2009 -------------------------------------- DIVERSIFICATION IS KEY Diversification is the key to safeguarding one`s future and building wealth. If you ask someone, have you diversified our investments, mostly the person would say Yes. I have some money in Stocks, some in MF, some in bank savings. In stocks, I am DIVERSIFIED in Tech, FMCG and Real Estate. Well, DIVERSIFICATION does not mean that. It means having a spread of ASSET CLASS - Gold, Insurance, Real Estate, Stocks, FD, etc. This diversification depends on your age, liabilities, responsibilities and risk profile. Usually the younger one is, the heavier the investment in risky asset class such as Equities, MF and as one progresses, the ratio shifts towards DEBT instruments such as PF, FD, Bonds, etc. So DIVERSIFY in ASSET CLASS and not just in STOCKS or MF. yes diversifcation is true,but realestate sluggish,only gold and equities seem to be greener...pastures for investment...
