Nifty minimum 3400 + to 4000 +
UQ .
BSR , wont that hint at the drity thing that wud come after we are there ! .
Now if people are counting on low levels for nifty and DOW i wonder how much surprise will be there from mighty market .
looks like biggest lession is in coming ..

Another BS point: Once the sharp rally start, that rally has potential to take Nifty minimum 3400+ to 4000+ level in ST/MT!

I seek your suggestion on the first venture of mine in Option play: I am holding the 2500 PUT I bought today. Waited for NIFTY to come to 2650-2600 range to exit, but was disappointed. What should I do ? Hold it till the end waiting for NIFTY to come to my desired level or get out of it as soon as possible ? will it be possible to get 2650-2600 range within this month ? The nifty will breach the previous low in the month of december between 8 to 15 in the current month nifty will stay slightly above the 2500 level(around 2540)...

Looks plausible. But not this week. We should get a pullback if we dip below 2600 tomorrow in the first half. 2860 on the higher side....

Sorry novice1000 ! I beg to differ here quite a bit.
One may have his own good reasons to be a traditional, hardened LT investor (going by classical notions), conveniently opting to give FnO a miss.
However, in my personal opinion, one just can`t be a COMPLETE equity player without neccessarily involving FnO in his/her portfolio management operatives.
It is quite customary to treat or dismiss FnO operatives as mere hedging tools - conveniently ignoring perhaps the most important function of FnO applications - to beget regular profits from relatively stagnating portfolio - `stagnating` not just b`coz of any fundamental malaise in some counter(s), but just b`coz of the routine vagaries of the market.
And, all such FnO-begotten profits as I imply in the above para very SIGNIFICANTLY bring down the acquisition cost of a portfolio - something that can not possibly be achieved by traditional PMS routine.
I appreciate what I say here will forever remain debatable - as long as the ever-widening rift between the investors/traders continues to exist. Umpteen of examples and case scenarios can be quoted by either side ... to no avail ... in reaching an objective consensus of sorts. The eternity and the superfluousness of such debate continues to amuse me.

If one understands the businesses properly, F&O is not really required for effective portfolio management.
However in many a case, people fail to understand the businesses properly. In such scenarios F&O is useful as a good hedging tool.
If i have to give a small example, genuine analysts( not those who come in CNBC) wrote off IT from investment point of view in as early as 2005. But those who think they understand the IT business( but not) failed to come out of those stocks.And in such scenarios F&O, as you rightly said helps as an excellent hedging tool.

honestytrack, Gud to see so many discussions on your parts!
Here are some BS points: TA is just a TOY!
Just like fundamentals BS talks related to business cycles, management, are part of the TOYs to PLAY the GAME better. TA as a TOY help to identify what those different PLAYers think about! Are those so called Fundamental PLAYers are STRONG PLAYers or WEAKER PLAYers? :)
TA works best in liquid stocks preferably in FnO! :)
As per current TA, expect Nifty to go to minimum 3400+ to 4000+ level with DOWNSIDE Ltd to 2500 level (margin of safety) in ST/MT! Let us see how things shape up here within 2 months! :)
Now question remains: whether TA works on all kind of stocks.. the plain answer is NO!
Avoid doing TA on ILLIQUID stocks... stocks that you mentioned in the former list were not even part of FnO! For those kind of stocks, right connections or insider news at times to operators are needed! :)
For FnO, there are hell lot of PLAYers apart from one operator making TA works fine as per BS expectations! :)
TA is just a toy to check inflow or outflow of MONEY by those BIG PLAYers! :)
Anyway, there are millions of ways to make MONEY in Dalal Street! Your way may be one of them! :) :)

how many TA s had predicted the way Adam comsof, soundkraft industries, silverline, dsq ... inditalia refcon etc etc.
while i see so many people predicting Suzlon , Neyveli lignite etc.
the former ones are established by fly by night while teh latters have standing to provide products and services.
most TA`s predicting some tech companies daily which wont even exist in the near future.
Tech analysis is based on data. what i base is sound algorithms.
i always used to differentiate between paper tigers and a live meowing cat.
this is not to hurt anyone who is a TA or following TA.
but something they should also be aware of.

Hi honestytrack,
Long term investors need not worry about Technical analysis.
But if you want to make big money in short term, then this
tool is indispensable.
Had you done some TA or had consulted some expert, you would
not have lost any money in January crash.

Btw novice1000, i will add some more .
Do you know marico and godrej pay 4 to 5 dividends each year consequtively for 5 - 6 years. i do know 4 - 5 more companies do that. Do you shipping corporation returns maximum dividend in quantum each year . usually 7 - 8 rs for face value of INR 10.
taking into account the non taxable dividend some of the stocks are good even as a regular cash earner....

An addendum for the previous one.There are many successful traders who made money and there are many unsuccessful investors who never made any money in stock markets.
It all depends on how well one plays ones cards.
