phirozabanVery true but hardly any investor understands the catch in such open offers. If shares were purchased less than a year ago and tendered in open Offer the Short Term Capital Gains will be at the rate in which the share holder`s income falls....

Posted by : avijitbPlease be aware that share offered in open offer don`t qualify for long term capital gains tax ( I am assuming you ware holding these shares for more than 1 year ). When you pay tax on shares sold in open offer your Rs. 40 gain will vanish....

Its called height of desparation.
Novartis people have called me last week, whether I am tendering my shares at Rs.451/- the offer price.
My answer to them was If they offer Rs.1000/- per share,then I will tender the share.
So folks please don`t tender your shares at current offer price.

fair value is rs 900 per share and financial institute will not tender their shares at rs 450....
Economic times reports that Reliance Mutual fund is comfortable to tender the offer where as LIC said they will decide on last day.
Not sure if there will be further revision now since the offer news clearly says any price revisions have to happen before May 28th.
I brought this stock in 2006 at 550 and I doubt if it will reach that price now. It may be better to tender now. There are investors like Azim Premji with 2.32% stake. Wonder if all of them are offering their shares in Open offer

Its has very high premium from said price wait ...dont make mistakes since its an MNC comp,it will increased it price above 500+,even then its cheap....
Can anyone tell me what would be strategy for NOVARTIS Shareholder after increase in open offer price to Rs.450.Should investor tender share in open offer for Rs.450 or it is better to hold for long term hoping that either offer price or market price of novartis shares will increase? What are the chances that after open offer closes in june that current market price around rs.444 will be sustained or it will fall below rs.400?...
