Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009:
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 1215.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 2807.80 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 9120.80 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 4914.10 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The Group has posted a net profit after minority interest of Rs 1638.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 5014.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Posted by : marketmanDear kjp,sun is still the best risk free pharma stock.... due to recent disturbances with usfda causing worry and few investors may not be as comfortable as before.... it will be good if it available for us in tripple digit mark.... the stock deseves 20 pe multiple in present style of market conditions.... we should watch Q1 and Q2 results to take buy decision in this counter.... investors already holding can be held this in long term portfolio.... thank you kjp for exchanging views on mmb.......

Sun Pharma to license key Escitalopram patent applications to Lundbeck
Sun Pharmaceutical Industry has today announced that Caraco Pharmaceutical Laboratories has entered into agreements with Forest Laboratories, Forest Laboratories Holdings and Lundbeck to settle the legal proceedings related to Lexapro (Escitalopram oxalate) tablets.
Sun Pharma will license to Lundbeck on a world wide basis certain patent applications related to the synthesis of escitalopram and citalopram in exchange of an upfront payment and if the technology is used, royalties on sales. Forest will provide licenses to Caraco for any patent related to Lexapro and with respect to marketing of Caraco`s generic version of the product as of the date that any third party generic that has recieved final approval from FDA enters the market other than an authorised genericor first filer with Hatch Waxman related exclusivity.
Caraco will take over the commercialization and sale of several products from Forests Inwood business. Caraco will pay forest an undisclosed advance against royalties and royalties on net sales of these products. Forest will reimburse Caraco for a portion of their costs related to this litigation.
These agreements will be subject to review by US Federal Trade Commission.
The company made this announcement after the trading hours on 10 July 2009.
