MMB MessengerIndian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) has informed BSE that the Committee of Directors have allotted 121,39,76,241 equity shares of Rs. 10/- each as bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 to the eligible shareholders as on the Record Date of October 30, 2009. Consequently, the Paid-up Share Capital of the Company stands enhanced from Rs. 1213.97 crore to Rs. 2427.95 crore....

you hold 10 shares before bonus date@ Rs. 450(approx) in that case u will get 10 bonus shares i.e. Rs. 0 per share
So u will hold total 20 shares (10 purchases @ Rs. 450 per share & 10 bonus shares @ Rs. 0)
So ur overall purchase will come to
(10*450) + (10*0) = 4500
after ex - bonus date price will fall by 50% of CMP on ex-bonus date ex: if CMP is 450 it will become 225
so post bonus date u will hold 20 share at avg of Rs. 225 i.e. 20* 225 = 4500
So there is no profit no loss in this situation unless CMP goes beyond 225 level.

Pls note for any no of shares purchased after ex-bonus date you wont get any bonus share.

All efforts are being made to contain the fire. However, there would be no major impact on the operations of the Company. The loss due to the fire is yet to be determined. Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC) has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009:
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 2843.60 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at net loss of Rs (70471.30) million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Total Income is Rs 618178.10 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 where as the same was at Rs 869874.70 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008.
- Comparative figures for the half year ended September 2008 do not include the figures of BRPL, which was merged with IndianOil on March 25, 2009. Accordingly, the same are not strictly comparable....
