Fri Nov 20, 2009 6:16pm IST Email | Print | Share| Single Page[-] Text [+] KOLKATA, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Andrew Yule (ANDY.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) group firm DPSC Ltd (DPSC.NS: Quote, Profile, Research) has sold 57.17 percent stake to India Power Corp Ltd (IPCL), a consortium promoted by Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd (SREI.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) and Bhaskar Silicon Pvt Ltd, Andrew Yule`s chairman said.
"IPCL emerged as the highest bidder by quoting 710 rupees a share," Kallol Dutta told reporters on Friday.
DPSC has sold the stake for 1.72 billion rupees, he added.
DPSC unit Descon emerged as the second highest bidder, Dutta said, with CESC Ltd (CESC.BO: Quote, Profile, Research) coming in third.
State-run Andrew Yule and group companies hold 15 percent in DPSC and Andrew Yule will receive 420 million rupees of the stake sale proceeds with the remaining going to other state-run entities, he said.
As per regulatory norms IPCL will have to go for an open offer for 20 percent additional stake in DPSC, Dutta added.

The strong momentum and liquidity indicates that nifty heading towards 5350 and above that. Technically if it holds above 4950 level, it may go upto 5350, 5400 level....
