Alas such long term never comes to an end. Where is the value creation ? See the nature of business and can it withstand in front of large player like Bharati RCOM who have integrated infrastructure and business model. They can withstand losses by making money in other segment and deliver vlue. YOu see, still People are away from IPO price , when this stock will deliver? Its heading like BPL mobile , who had first mover advantage and stands no where today? . I wish this does not happen with Dish share holders!! ...

It is a buy for Short Term and Long Term. Govt has recently approved FDI of Rs 243.40 crore. For these kinds of businesses price to book ratios can be expensive. Earnings will come over a period of time along with subscribers. I think mgmt should get rid of costly brand ambassadors and instead spend the money on promotional sops....

Eventually DTH is the way forward. The adoption levels of DTH platform is linked to the increase in surplus income of the indian middle class. The individual anolog cable guy cannot match the quality of DTH platform and also the services it offers. Currently they do have an upperhand because of the lower cost involved ( since most of these players dont show actual numbers and hence pay less tax ). Contraty to this the DTH industry is heavily burdened with taxes ( you will be surprised to know that most of these big DTH players pay anything between 30-40% as takes. Currently this is passed on to the customer. However if india adopts GST from April next year this is gona reduce substantially.

So DishTV at 40 is an oppertunity for long term. In next 2-3 years you will see this stock around 200/300 levels if not more...
