Look at the quarterly results declared today.
Sales 1253 crs against 1019 crs in June 08. Net Profit 93.45 crs as against 53.84 crs in June 08.
However profit in June 09 is lower than Mar 09 qtr. Still Year on year there is marked improvement in profits.
I do not think that the Adani IPO has anything to do with this share. Recently they announced the start of 382.5 MW power generation from second unit of Sugen plant. The third unit is expected to commence generation also in this quarter. This is pushing up the price as the lead time from planning to generation is very long and all the investments made are now generating power & returns....

Torrent Power Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009:
The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 934.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 538.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 11426.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 12624.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009.
The Consolidated Results are as follows
The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 939.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 538.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 11426.60 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 to Rs 12636.00 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009....

Posted by : gpawani just wonder if it is on its own it is going up or because of adani power issue. if the later is true stock should fall to 185 levels soon. if not should go up to 250 levels in the next 3 months. any suggestions? of course i agree long term trend towards 500 is sure. it is getting more and more circles and bhiwandi circle has started making profits already. still no news on carbon credit. that itself should give it a rs. 100 jump....

this is cheapest stock next to NTPC in Power sector with solid Fy2008-09 and its expected 2009-10 also to be good with EPS of 15/- so investor can consider the same...
