The half yearly results are very good.
Income up to Rs 2651 crs as against Rs 2271 crs in Sept 08 half year.
Net Profit this half up to Rs 303 crs as against Rs 161 crs in Sept half in 2008-09.
The Sept quarter has been very strong with Net Profit of Rs 209 crs as against Rs 94 crs in June 2009 quarter.
The EPS is up to 4.43 as against 3.42 last half year.
Surely a powerful performance.

Torrent Power Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009:

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 2095.30 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 1075.10 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 11576.70 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 to Rs 14598.60 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009.

The Unaudited Consolidated Results are as follows

The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 2096.70 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to Rs 1075.10 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Total Income has increased from Rs 11576.70 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 to Rs 14598.60 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009....

Power genweartion has a long gestation period. Torrent power is way ahead of Reliance power and Adani Power as it is already generating and distributing power. The commencement of Sugen project is another plus point. I agree that the share is currently underpriced vis a vis more visible Reliance ADAG and Adani group.
Hold for long term gains as the share is definitely going to go up only....
