Adani Power has already been subscribed 3.96 times. It looks like the bid price may settle at the upper limit of Rs 100.
Both IPOs seem to be fairly priced and will attract a lot of India-specific overseas investors....

Who gave you this false impression that IPO shares are available on first come first basis... I bet NHPC IPO will be subscribed more compared to Adani...
Chances of allottment are better in Adani IPO... ...

Both are good. But, Adani IPO is already over-subscribed and for small investors, it is very difficult to get allotment. But, one can try. It is better to go in for it immediately when it is listed.
NHPC is very good stock and try to submit your application immediately when the IPO is open. This way, you stand a chance. Otherwise, wait and pounce on it on the listing day.

Tata Power Company rose 2.22% to Rs 1154 at 10:54 IST on BSE, having recovered from the session`s low of Rs 1121.10, following a strong response to an issue of global depository receipts.
At the day`s low the stock had declined 0.69%, before the company announced the pricing of the global depository receipts (GDR).
Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex was up 215.86 points, or 1.43%, 15,278.35.
On BSE, 41,448 shares were traded in the counter. The stock had an average daily volume of 89,205 in the past one quarter.
The stock hit a high of Rs 1154 and a low of Rs 1121.10 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 1225 on 12 June 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 531.50 on 27 October 2008.
The large-cap stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 21 July 2009, falling 3.04% as compared to the Sensex`s 3.72% rise. It had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, rising 28.28% as compared to the Sensex`s return of 38.21%.
The company`s` current equity is Rs 222.01 crore. Face value per share is Rs 10.
The current price of Rs 1154 discounts the company`s Q4 March 2009 annualized EPS of Rs 64.06, by a PE multiple of 18.01.
Tata Power Company during trading hours today, 22 July 2009, said it has raised $335 million from an issue of global depository receipts (GDR). The company said a strong investor responce enbale the company to raise GDR issue size to $335 million from $250 million. The GDR was priced at $22.577 each. Each GDR represents one underlying equity share. The rupee equivalent price of the GDR works out to about Rs 1090 per share, a discount of about 5.5% over the ruling market price.
The GDRs will to be listed on the official list of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The GDR issue will results in equity dilution of 6.6%
The company said the funds will be used to finance various expansion projects
The company had on 25 June 2009 entered into a memorandum of understanding with group firm Tata Steel to set up a 525-megawatt (MW) power plant in Netherlands. The proposed plant in Netherlands will be ready in 2013 and partly replace the existing power supply agreement with another utility, Tata Power said.
Tata Power Company will declare its Q1 June 2009 results on 31 July 2009. The company`s net profit rose 57.6% to Rs 354.64 crore on a 19.9% decline in sales to Rs 1309.64 crore in Q4 March 2009 over Q4 March 2008.
Tata Power Company generates and supplies electricity in Mumbai and its suburbs. The company also constructs and operates independent power plants as well as captive power plants for industrial concerns. Tata Power also provides various services related to electricity distribution, erects and commissions transmission lines.

With reference to earlier announcement dated July 21, 2009, Tata Power Company Ltd has now informed BSE as under:
(1) Size of the Issue
- The Committee has approved an equity offering in the form of Global Depository Receipts (GDRs) on the terms described herein. The gross proceeds of the offering will be approximately US$335 million.
(2) Number of Shares Issued
The Company will be issuing 14,838,110 GDRs, each GDR representing one equity share of the Company.
(3) Price of the GDRs
The price of each GDR will be US$22.577, which has been determined in accordance with the applicable Indian pricing guidelines for GDRs.
Goldman Sachs International and J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd are acting as Joint Lead Managers and Joint Bookrunners to the offering and SBI-CAP (UK) Ltd as the co-lead Manager.
Application has been made for the GDRs to be listed on the official list of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and to be admitted to trading on the EuroMTF market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange....
