Administrative Committee of the Companys Board of Directors at their Meeting held on October 23, 2009 resolved to issue and allot 69413 equity shares of Rs. 2/- each pursuant to exercise of the stock options by the eligible employees under Restricted Stock Unit Plan 2004 and Restricted Stock Unit Plan 2005.

2. Administrative Committee of the Companys board of Directors vide Circular resolution dated October 23, 2009 allotted 30700 equity shares of par value of Rs. 2/- to JP Morgan Chase Bank, the Companys depository as underlying shares in respect of ADRs to be issued and allocated to the purchasers, pursuant to the exercise of the stock options granted to the employees under the Companys ADS Restricted Stock Unit Plan- 2004. ...

Delhi International Airport (DAIL) and IT major Wipro today announced a 10 year total outsourcing agreement to provide world class IT infrastructure and services for Indira Gandhi Airport (IGIA), New Delhi.

The IGI`s mew integrated terminal (T3), which will be one of the largest airport terminals in the world, will also be the gateway for the commonwealth games to be held in New Delhi.

Wipro would hold 74% in the JV and DAIL will hold 26% stake. The JV will focus on emerging business models and technologies for airports

Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting is in advanced talks to acquire certain assets of UK-based, privately-held personal care company Lornamead, reports Economic Times.

Lornamead is owned by UK-based Indian origin businessman Mike Jatania and has brands such as Yardley and Tura.

Lornamead`s global turnover is estimated to be close to USD 650 million. Its portfolio straddles various categories of personal care products including hair-care (Brisk, Aqua Net and Vosene), cosmetics and skin-care (Amplex and Handsan), oral care (Brilliant and Goldspot) and home care brand Stergene.

Tura is a significant player in soaps and skin care in Nigeria, with an annual turnover of close to USD 50 million.

Why market panics so much about 1 week of rupee appreciation? when rupee went to 39 IT stocks were hammered beyond shape as if there is no tomorrow and all IT companies are going to close down.. then again it came back to 51/- and when it came back to 51 also the valuation never came back and still rupee at 51/- Infy was trading at 900/- and Wipro was trading at 200/- in March-April. ...

Seeing Wipro quarterly result the expenses is exactly same as June 08 where as the revenue has grown by 500 Crs. so the EPS has moved from 5 odd rupees to 8 Rs. Wipro has been able to manage the cost well or increase the utilization and hence realization......

on the contrary i think the script is due for a correction.... moreover the way dollar is weakening against rupee, IT companies will be under little pressure in the near term........
