In fact people like you have to come together to the reform of every society.
It gives strength to a good individual if he has other similar people to give company otherwise his life becomes difficult in a society dominated by bad people.
There goes some story about the present state of things that it is attributable to kaliyug(Sab kuch ulta-pulta); kaliyug had entered the earth after mahabharat kaal through some king`s gold mukut .
Presently transformation age(krit yug) is going on as per scriptures.
Hopefully,it would be followed by satyug.
This is a cycle of yugas which keeps on going as per laws of universe;so say the scriptures.
It is upto an individual,which path he chooses in his freedom....
Whether good or bad the strength should come from within the individuals who are memebers of the society. It is derived from the self within and so the individual should change basically to improve any society worth its name. Unless there is change in the individuals there is no salvation for the society by itself as a collection of the individuals form the society itself. Without a change in the individual there is no change in the society. Aand that should come from within, may be external forces may influence and that is where Great Men and Religions and books etc is coming to picture....
What we need to analyse is why /how and who changes the members of society.
Wheather the change is for upgrade or downgrade of society, it has to be some strong force.
Bad society is changing good society to bad.So the former has become more powerful then the existent latter making bad more widespread and powerful.
We have to know where the bad is deriving its powers from??

Who forms the society, except the members of the society who are simple human beings. Once they change, the society also will change. Otherwise is there any way to change the society?
One can always differ from others and that freedom is always there and with proper reasoning they can convince others also....

I have to differ with u in that man was always born as slave to senses but he had to learn to rise above the senses during the lifetime.
Those who r born above senses` slavery are not man but saints or incarnations.
I do agree that society has fallen from the standards that used to be social order earlier which in itself was a path to salvation.
Today the onus is on sensual gratification and while earlier it used to be on sublimation of senses.
