Dear Dipak, on 23/9 30m sold for 213 lacs and on 24/9 38m sold for 282 lacs. 15/9 & 16/9 saw 53m sold at 389 lacs and over and above that JMP bought and sold almost 200m shares between 30/6 and 8/10. 71 lacs not close to a record. Hope this ease your mind because as we all know it`s an operators stock until Cals starts production and then it changes from an oil refinery to a Gold Mine for those with a belief and patience.
I hope to resist human greed and not sell too early and only make a small profit and instead make a windfall profit.
Good trading
Martin...

these entities[Ketan parekh and Group] made a profit of Rs42.01 lakh, Rs4.72 crore, respectively on account of their dealing in the scrips of Confidence Petroleum and bang Overseas Ltd. However, they incurred huge losses of Rs3.68 crore, Rs7.64 crore and Rs4.68 crore, respectively, while dealing in the scrips of Cals Refineries, SPSL and TFL.

The regulator noted that ``Despite having made such losses, they continue to execute such uneconomic transaction indicates that they possibly had alternative pay-offs outside the securities market. In addition they would have also paid reduced income tax on account of the set off of the losses incurred in their dealing``.

Interim result – Livermore inc financials June 30, 09

CALS refinery - India
In December 2007, Livermore entered into a Total Swap Agreement (TSA) with respect to a Global Depositary Receipt (GDR) issued by an Indian refinery company – CALS Refinery. CALS is promoted by Spice group to set up refineries in India. Spice is a USD 2 billion turnover group with interests in Oil & Gas, Aviation, Hotels, and Heavy engineering in India and Africa. CALS is relocating a refinery from Germany to India and the GDR was issued to part-finance the relocation and set up of this refinery in India. CALS expects the refinery to have a capacity of 4.8 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA).
On the operational front, CALS has received the environment clearance to set up the 5
MMTPA refinery at Haldia, West Bengal, India from the Ministry of Environment and Forests. In addition, the Government of West Bengal has approved a special package of incentives under the West Bengal Incentive Scheme 2004 for the company. In November 2008, CALS signed a crude supply agreement with British Petroleum for supply of 60% of total refining capacity with a minimum off-take of 57.7% of diesel produced and 34.4% of total gasoline produced at prevailing market rates. CALS has further signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for off-take of the byproducts such as LPG, Naphtha, ATF/Kerosene, diesel, gasoline benzene, propylene and sulphur. For handling of larger crude parcels, CALS has signed an MOU with Dhamra Port for the use of an oil jetty that is under construction.
Following the notice of put option exercised by the TSA counterparty to the promoters of
CALS, negotiations with the promoters to restructure or increase the collateral is in rocess.
We have been informed that, while no legal steps have been taken to force the transfer of control of the entity holding the collateral, initial discussions to identify buyers for the entity vehicle holding the collateral have begun. The legal process in respect of the issues described above has not yet been initiated in the hope that an amicable workout agreement can be reached with the promoters. Considering the above developments, the reduced collateral value following an overall decline in property values in India, and also considering the decline 7 in price of the underlying GDR, management has decided to impair the investment by 50%, reducing the investment value to USD 5m from USD 10m.

Weak demand shutting down refineries

WILMINGTON, Del. — Refineries from New Mexico to New Jersey are under severe economic pressure because of falling demand for fuel, with a number of facilities shutting down in recent months.

Valero Energy Corp., which shuttered a major refinery over the summer, said Friday it would permanently close its Delaware City oil refinery and lay off 550 workers.

It is the largest refinery in the United States to close this year.

Refineries in the Northeast are particularly vulnerable because many are older, operate less efficiently and must compete with gasoline imported from Europe.

The Delaware City refinery, where workers were notified of the closing Friday, lost about million every day this year, said Valero spokesman Bill Day.

Demand for fuel has been falling for some time and the recession has made things worse, squeezing profit margins for refiners everywhere.

Refiners are pulling capacity offline and are now operating at levels more consistent with the aftermath of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico.

El Paso, Texas-based Western Refining Inc. announced earlier this month that it would close its Bloomfield, N.M., facility, putting 100 people out of work.

Valero, based in San Antonio, said in September that it would idle two units in Delaware City, cutting about 150 jobs. Last month, the company said it would cut another 100 jobs at its Paulsboro, N.J. refinery by the end of the year.

announcement came just days after Sunoco Inc. said it would indefinitely idle its Eagle Point facility, which employs about 400 workers in New Jersey.

In June Valero shut its refinery in Aruba, which had a capacity of about 275,000 barrels a day.

The Delaware City refinery had a capacity of 210,00 barrels a day.

Valero chairman and CEO Bill Klesse said the company had sought a buyer for the Delaware facility, but found no takers.
