| How to post a message? |
| On clicking on post a message, a new widow opens with a pre selected category ‘Stocks’, if you wish to change the category please select the category and the desired topic under the category chosen and type your message, chose the type of your message (query, comment or grievance) and submit. |
| Can I address a message to another boarder? |
| Yes after writing the message you are asked whether you would want to address this message to any boarder. You can type the boarders nickname from the alphabetical list given or pick from your address book. |
| My Messages do not appear on the board immediately? |
| New boarders, red flagged boarders and guests are not given auto publishing rights immediately. There is a screening period during which the Moderator scans the message for offensive content and then publishes the message. Messages of guest boarders are also screened before publishing. |
| How can I find my messages? |
| Please click on the Messages posted by me link provided to you on your boarder page to view all your messages. You can also see replies to your message in the same place. |
| Where can I find my old messages? |
| You will find all your old messages in the archives. Please click on the archive link provided to you on your boarder page in the Messages posted by you section. |
| What are private messages and how do I post one? |
Private messages are ones that can be addressed to one particular boarder and that can be viewed only by him. The messages will appear only on the boarder page and not on the general board. A reply to this private message will also be a private one.
To post a private one needs to only type and message and choose the boarder one would like to address it to. |
| What are my other privileges? |
| Boarders have moderating rights when the MMB Moderator is offline. They can rate another boarders messages, and also track boarders. New boarders, Guests and flagged boarders are not allowed to rate messages or mark it as offensive. |
| When will I get auto publishing rights? |
| Boarders are given auto publishing rights after they accumulate certain numbers of points based on the number of message they post. |
| My Messages disappeared? |
| We delete messages if they do not adhere to the MMB Code of conduct. If boarders find the message offensive they click on the offensive button, if the moderator is offline the message goes off the board. |
| When I click on the submit button after posting a message sometimes a blank page opens? |
| If you do not have a nickname on the board a blank page will open after you click on the submit button. Please close the browser and post a another message the system will prompt your for a nickname please fill in the desired nickname and click submit. If this error still persist please mail us at feedback@moneycontrol with your desired nickname and we will do the needful. Please provide 2 to 3 options. Please note if all your options are taken then we will use your username as your nickname. |
| What is Silver, Gold and Platinum circle? How can I upgrade my boarder circle? |
| Boarders are classified into silver, gold, and platinum on the basis of the number points they have. The activity level based on the number of messages, the ratings of his messages all determine the boarder points. Boarders with the highest number of points are clubbed in the platinum list and so forth. |
| Can I see messages on all the stocks in my portfolio in one place? |
| You can view all the messages on stocks in your portfolio on you user page under the section Messages on your investments. |
| Can I add stocks and topics I am interested in one place? |
| Under the stock scan and interest area section you can choose from the list of stocks and topics that you interested in tracking and add to your list. |
| What is an address book? |
| Here you can add to your list the boarders you frequently write messages to. |
| What are Last boards visited? |
| Last boards you visited are the list of topics and stocks who visited when you last logged in to the MMB. |
| What is Last visited by? |
| Last Visited by is a listing of all the boarders who visited your page. |
| Can I see the list of all the threads I am tracking? |
| You can view all the listing of all the threads you are tracking on your user page under the section tracked threads. |
| Can I see the list of all the boarders I am tracking? |
| You can view the list of all boarders who you are tracking on your user page under the section My track list. |
| Can I see the list of all boarders who are tracking me? |
| You can view the list of all boarders who are tracking you on your user page under the section Boarders tracking me. |
| Can I see all my messages that have been rated by other boarders? |
| You can view all the your messages that have been rated by other boarders in your page under the section My rated message. |
| Can I see all the messages of other boarders that I have Rated in one place? |
| You can view all the messages of other boarders that you have rated on your user page under the section Messages I have Rated. |
| Can I upload my picture on the board? |
| We do not upload offensive pictures on the board. If the picture is not in JPG, GIF, or PNG file. Or it is more then 500KB.or containing children, pets, cartoons, celebrities, nudity, artwork or copyrighted images. |
| I cannot edit ‘About me’ section, the edit button is not functioning? |
| If you have uploaded any html script earlier the edit button will not function please mail us at feedback@moneycontrol with your nickname and userid and we will do the needful. |
Moderator online/offline option |
Offline: When the moderator is offline the boarders are given moderating rights.
On clicking the Offensive alert against a message boarders will be able to alert the MMB Team as and when they find a particular message offensive. If any boarder spots a message offending one's sensibilities he can click on the offensive icon the message will disappear from the board.
These messages will be later screened and the final deletion will be solely based on the MMB Moderator discretion. Guests, New boarders and flagged boarders will not be given these privileges.
Note *If any boarder is found misusing this right MMB Moderator reserves the right to revoke the boarders auto publishing rights; we will also block IP’s.
Online: The message does not get hidden if the moderator online. |
