Mah Satyam BPO turns profitable, delivers 8% growth QoQ

For the first time in four years, Mahindra Satyam`s business process outsourcing (BPO) arm has made profits. Sources say that a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) revenue growth of 8% has been seen this quarter, reports CNBC-TV18’s Kritika Saxena.

Two factors led to the profitability – strong cost rationalization by Mahindra Satyam’s BPO arm and a strong leveraging of Tech Mahindra’s operations and workforce.



According our sources, there is 8% growth in the overall revenues this particular quarter of which 4% come from purely new clients and clients extending their contracts.

Commenting on the good performance of the company, Vijay Rangineni, CEO of Mahindra Satyam BPO says, currently, as many as 22 clients were in the client base of Mahindra Satyam. Two new clients had been added this quarter. In fact, he says, large pharma client had extended its contract and increased the revenue figure to even double this particular quarter.

In addition to that they were chasing two large telecom deals going forward. This would be between USD 500-700 million. Rangineni also says that they were adding 200-300 employees going forward and had added 1,200 employees this particular quarter.
