By 2025, India’s population is expected to hit 1.4 billion. But available water supply may not be enough to meet the demand. That’s why GE is at work to help India efficiently use available water resources. Its products and services provide safe, clean water for citizens and businesses, treat wastewater for reuse and help create resource and environmental sustainability for the country.

Zeeweed Hollow Fiber Membranes and Membrane Bioreactor

GE’s ZeeWeed ultrafiltration (UF) hollow-fiber membranes are designed with a robust life expectancy, to boost the water treatment system’s operational efficiency.  ZeeWeed membranes are utilized for drinking water, wastewater, tertiary and water reuse applications, as well as industrial feedwater and reverse osmosis (RO) pretreatment. Membrane Bioreactors, based on ZeeWeed UF technology is the leading technology globally for municipal and industrial wastewater reuse. These advanced technologies are operational in thousands of municipal, industrial, and commercial applications worldwide.

Wastewater Bioaugmentation Products

Controlling organic contaminants is a key objective of many wastewater treatment plants. Ensuring the healthy growth of beneficial microorganisms is critical to the efficient operation of secondary treatment systems, which are designed to remove organic contaminants. GE offers bioaugmentation products and services to support healthy and efficient microorganism growth and performance in your wastewater plant.

Metals Removal Industrial Water Treatment

Metals in waste streams don't naturally degrade and are toxic to aquatic life, even at low concentrations. GE provides wastewater treatment programs for industrial facility operators to reduce heavy metals in waste streams. Metals that can be removed include soluble and/or particulate heavy metals, such as lead, copper, chromium, iron, manganese, mercury, nickel and zinc.

Seawater Packaged Desalination

It is vital for customers in water-scarce regions to achieve and maintain low operating costs. GE's SeaPRO seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) series solves desalination needs while optimizing operating costs. The SWRO series covers a range of customer applications, including boiler feedwater make-up, irrigation water, plant process water, and small community potable water demand.
