The Company was incorporated on 23rd April, 1977 at Madras.
 
 It manufactures dyestuffs, intermediates and chemicals both organic
 and inorganic and other by products.
 
 The Company was promoted by Tamilnadu Industrial Development
 Corporation Ltd. (TIDCO), in Association with Tamilnadu Handloom
 Weavers Co-operative Society Ltd. (CO-OPTEX), Colour -Chem Ltd.,
 joined as a promoter in 1982.
 
 During 1989-90 TIDCO and Tamilnadu Handloom Weavers  Co-operative
 Society Ltd. (Co-optex) decided to disinvest their holdings in the
 Company in favour of Colour Chem Ltd. (CCL).
 
 This was pursuant to the policy announced by the Government of Tamil
 Nadu permitting TIDCO to disinvest selectively from joint sector
 units promoted by it and also at the request of CCL, the Co-promoter
 of the venture.
 
 The Company became a subsidiary of Colour Chem Ltd, on 7th May, 1990.
