U.G. Hotels & Resorts Ltd was incorporated as a Private Limited
 Company on 05-02-1986 and subsequently converted into Public Limited
 company on 10th December 1990. It is a new company in the process of
 setting up a 5 star category exclusive resort hotel. The hotel is
 being set up at main Kufri Chail Road, hear Shimla which is a major
 tourist centre.
 
 The company has been promoted by Mr. Umesh Phalpher and Mr. Harmit
 Ghai. Originally the company proposed to set up a 50 Cottage, 4 Star
 Category resort Hotel. Therafter, the building layout plant underwent
 a change as a sequel to the State Government changing the road layout
 plan. Further additional facilities such as central heating system,
 water storage tank etc. were incorporated in the revised layout and
 the constructed area plan was increased from 3380 sq. mtrs to 5860
 mtrs.
 
 However, the implementation of the project could not be preceded with
 as envisaged on account of hindrance in the mobility of materials and
 manpower due to restricted availability of petroleum fuels consequent
 to the Gulf war, political disturbances and agitations in 1990/91.
 Thereafter a market survey was conducted together with Jaypee Hotel
 Ltd  in 1992 to assess the demand for a 5 Star Resort in the Shimla
 Region. As a sequel to a favourable market assessment, the project
 concept was modified and upgraded from a 4 Star category to a 5 Star
 category. the number of guest cottages were increased from 50 to 61
 and the built up area was enhanced to 9140 Sq. Metrs.
