Tube Investments of India

The Co. was incorporated in 1949, at Madras. The company has a cycle
 division and a Tube Division functioning as separate units in the
 names of T.I. Cycle of India and Tube Products of India. The Co. also
 runs a cold Rolling mill and metal section.
 
 TI  Mills Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Tube Investment of India
 Ltd. (TIL) merged with TIL with effect from 1st January, 1984.
 
 Effect from 31st March, 1991 Press Metals Corporation (PMC) was
 amalgamated with the co.
 
 Effective from April 1991, Sathavahana Chains Ltd (SCL) was
 amalgamated with the co.
 
 Tube Products of India Ltd. merged with TI Cycles of India Ltd with
 effect from 22nd January, 1959 : consequently the companys name was
 changed from TI cycle of India Ltd to Tube Investments of India Ltd.
 wef. 16 th September, 1959.		               
 
 2000 - Arunachalam Vellayn, managing director of Tube Investments of
 India Ltd, 
             has been electted president of ICC India for 2000-2001.
 
 2001 - Alagappan has been appointed a Wholetime Director with the
 designation as
              Executive Vice-Chairman for a period of 5 years from
 February 1.
 
           - Tube Investments of India Ltd., part of the Chennai-based
 Murugappa group, has been give
              the 'Corporate Citizen Award' by the Rotary Club of
 Ambattur, Chennai.
 
 2002
 
 -Tube Investments of India Ltd informs that Mr K Ganesan has ceased
 to be Director, it has further informed that Mr S Gurumurthy has been
 appointed as an Additional Director of the Company effective May 24,
 2002.
 
 -Tube Investments of India Ltd informs that Mr Adhiraj Sarin has been
 appointed as Managing Director of the Company for a period of 5 years
 with effect from August 01, 2002. Mr Adhiraj Sarin will replace Mr V
 A Raghu the present Managing Director who retires on July 31, 2002.
 
 -Implements the Oracle 11i e-business suite for better planning and
 inventory control.
 
 -Cholamandalam General Insurance Co  becomes a subsidiary to the Tube
 Investments.
 
 -Makes additional investment of Rs.76cr in Cholamandalam Insurance Co
 Ltd.,
 
 -The Board of Directors approve for the buyback of equity shares of
 the company on 
 August 22 2002.
 
 2003
 
 -Director Mr S Gurumurthy expires on jan 25 2003.
 
 -The Registered Office of the company has been shifted to Dare House,
 234, N S C Bose, Chennai 600 001 with effect from December 5, 2003.
 
 2007
 
 - Tube Investments of India Ltd has appointed Mr. N Srinivasan as
 Additional Director on the Board of Directors of the Company with
 effect from January 29, 2007.
