YEAR                       EVENTS
 1992 - Singhal Cement Limited (SCL) was incorporated on the 18th 
        February, as a Private Limited Company.  It was subsequently 
        converted into a Public Limited Company on the 10th
 September.
        The company was promoted jointly by Pawan Kumar Singhal and
 Vinod
        Kumar Bansal were also inducted on the Board.
 
 1995 - 804,400 No. of equity shares issued of which 449,400 No. of
        equity shares of Rs 10 each for cash at par reserved on
        preferential allotment basis to the promoters (all were taken
        up).  Another 24,00,000 shares were offered to the public out
 of 
        which 8,000 No. of equity shares to the employees and
 23,92,000
        shares offered to public along with the unsubscribed portion
 of
        employees (23,70,500 shares taken up).
 
 1996 - The cement industry witnessed a worst ever period due to
        uncertain political situation and low infrastructural
        development.
