The Company was incorporated on 30th August, 1982, as a Private
 Limited Company.  The company joined as a partner in a partnership
 firm of the M/s Otoklin Filters of India on 4th October, 1982.  The
 company was converted into a public limited company on 15th
 September, 1983.
 
 It was promoted by the three Jhaveri Brothers, viz, Rajendra
 K.Jhaveri, Dilip K Jhaveri and Shirish K. Jhaveri.
 
 The partnership firm Otoklin originally made a modest beginning in
 1969.  It's first plant at Andheri (West) was commissioned in 1974. 
 Thereafter, the first unit at Taloja in Raigad District of
 Maharashtra State was established which went into commercial
 production partly in 1978 and fully in 1980.
 
 Delkor Technic AG & Co of Switzerland and Passavant works AG & Co
 of West Germany are the two technical collaborators of the Company.
