The Company was originally incorporated on 11th December, 1975 as
 Monica Electronics Pvt.Ltd and the word Pvt.was deleted from its name
 on 15th June, 1988 under Section 43-A(1A) of the Companies Act, 1956. 
 The Company was converted from deeemed Public Limited Company to
 Public Limited Company vide Special Resolution passed in the
 Extra-ordinary General Meeting held on 29th August, 1991.
 
 The Company is presently engaged in the manufacture of Colour
 Televisions for both domestic and export markets, Video Cassette
 Recorders and Video Cassettes.  Over the years, the Company has
 establised its brand name `ONIDA' and has developed a large network
 of dealers for marketigng its products.
 
 The Company has also promoted Onida Saka Limited and Onida Savak Ltd.
 which were incorporated on 25th November, 1981 and 26th February 1987
 respectively. 
 
 The immediate object of the company is to increase the capacity for
 manufacture of VCRs from 10,000 n.p.a. to 24,000 n.p.a. and to set up
 facilities for moulding of a part of the components for VCR and for
 normal Capital Expenditure of the CTV Project.
