The company was incorporated as Steelsworth International Private Limited on 21st June, 1980. The name was changed to Milli Tech Private Limited on 31st October 1985. The name was again changed to Kemwell International Private Limited on 13th October 1988. The company was converted into a Public Limited Company under the name Kemwell International Limited and a certificate of change of name was obtained from the Registrar of Companies on 25th November 1994. The company originally started manufacturing engineering products and discontinued the same during 1990. The company started a 100% EOU manufacturing latex gloves in 1989. Since establishment of the unit the company gradually increased its production. For the year ended 31st March, 1994 capacity utilisation was 75% and for the 7 1/2 months period ending 15.11.94 the capacity utilisation was 97.18%. The company is utilising state of the art latex surgical gloves manufacturing technology, keeping pace with industry trends and innovations. Its sales have been growing steadily since its inception and it is currently exporting surgical gloves to the high quality markets of The Netherlands, Germany, France, U.K, Italy and the U.S.A. The gloves are also being exported to Middle East, Africa and South America. The products has been well accepted because of its quality and price. The company has a division generating Agricultural Income by way of cultivating and selling flowers in the factory premises. However in view of the proposed expansion programme that is envisaged, which will be utilising this surplus land, the company would be discontinuing the Flower division activity. |
