Balmer Lawrie Freight Containers Limited was incorporated on
 November 8, 1994 as a Public Limited Company in the State of
 West Bengal and obtained the Certificate for Commencement of
 Business on November 10, 1994 from the Registrar of Companies,
 West Bengal at Calcutta.
 
 The principal objective of the Company is to manufacture Marine
 Freight Containers. The project has been co-promoted by Balmer
 Lawrie & Co Ltd, Tectrans Technology Transfer and Engineering
 Gmbh, Germany and Okura & Co. Ltd, Japan. The project is being
 set up as a 100% EOU in the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ)
 at Madras.
