The Company was incorporated as Satyam Constructions Private Limited
 on May 6, 
 1988 under the Companies Act. It became a deemed  public company with
 effect 
 from July 1, 1993 under Section 43A(1A) of the Companies Act and the
 word private 
 was deleted from its name. The name of the Company was changed to
 Maytas Infra 
 Limited pursuant to a special resolution  of the shareholders of the
 Company at an
 EGM held on May 6, 1998. The fresh certificate of incorporation 
 consequent upon 
 the change of name was granted on June 1, 1998 by the RoC The Company
 became 
 a private limited company on May 7, 2002 pursuant to Section 43A(2A)
 of the Companies 
 Act and the word private was added to its name. Subsequently,
 pursuant to a special 
 resolution of the shareholders of the Company at an extraordinary
 general meeting held 
 on December 30, 2006, the Company has become a public limited company
 and the 
 word private has been deleted from its name. The certificate of
 incorporation to reflect 
 the new name was issued on February 9, 2007, by the RoC.

 1994   A joint venture was entered with Sri Shankaranarayana
 Construction Company and 
           Trafalgar House Construction (Tunneling), U.K., which
 pre-qualified  for the work
           of Muran dam and Tunnel of UIHP, Orissa.1996 The Company
 obtained a Letter of 
            Intent to set up a 330MW power plant at Peddapuram, East
 Godavari District and a 
           special purpose vehicle,   Gautami Power Limited, was
 incorporated toexecute this project.
           1998 In joint venture with IJM Corporation Bhd.,
 Malaysia,Mumbai-Pune Expressway 
           (Section A) (13,232 Kms) and the Chennai Bypass (Phase-I)
 projects were awarded.
          1999 In joint venture with Sri Shankaranarayana Construction
 Company, Bangalore, new 
          works of Kalpong HE Project, NHPCL, Andaman and Nicobar
 Islands, and Larji 
          HE Project, HPSEB, were awarded.2001 In joint venture with
 Sri Shankaranarayana 
          Construction Company, Bangalore, the Narmada Canal works 
 were awarded.
 
 2002   The Company was awarded upgradation of the road project from
 Kalmala
            Junction to Sindhnur in a joint venture with NCC.The
 Company was awarded the
            contract for civil and hydro-mechanical works for Head
 Race Tunnel and associated 
            works in Himachal Pradesh and entered into a joint
 venture, HIMACHAL JV, with 
            Sri Shankaranarayana Construction Company and NCC.
 
 2003    The Company entered into a joint venture, NCC-Maytas (JV),
 with NCC.
            The joint venture was awarded the Singapore Class Township
 at Pocharam from CESMA
           ,Singapore.The Company was awarded an ISO 9001-2000
 Certification by
            American Quality Assessors with effect from February 28,
 2003.The Compan 
            received an award, the FastestGrowing Construction Company
 - 1st Rank for the year
            2003 from Construction World magazine.
 
 2004   The Company entered into a joint venture with Sri
 Shankaranarayana 
            Construction Company and was awarded the construction of
 the
            Kumaradhara Pasupudhara Dams (with ancillary works) at
 Tirumala 
            Hill,Andhra Pradesh.The Company incorporated a special
 purpose vehicle, 
            Brindavan Infrastructure Company Limited, along with NCC
 and KMC 
            Constructions Limited.
 
 2006  The Company received an award, the Fastest Growing Construction
 Company 
           3rd Rank, for the year
 
 2006   from Construction World magazine.
 
 2007  The Company entered into a memorandum of understanding with
 Dhabi
           Contracting Est. and established a joint venture company,
 Dhabi Maytas 
           Contracting LLC in United Arab Emirates. 
 
 -Maytas Infra Ltd on December 10, 2007, has signed a Memorandum of
 Understanding (MOU) with Vedanta Alumina Ltd for developing an
 integrated township for its staff in Jharsuguda, Orissa.
 
 2009
 
 - With reference to the earlier announcement dated March 13, 2009,
 Maytas Infra Ltd have received the copy of order issued by the under
 Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Corporate Affairs,
 New Delhi confirming the appointment of Dr. K Ramalingam and Shri.
 Anil K Agarwal as Directors of the Company. It also confirmed that
 Dr. K Ramalingam shall be the Chairman of the Board / Company until
 further orders.
 
 2010
 
 - Maytas Infra Ltd has bagged a Contract from ITNL ENSO Rail Systems
 Ltd. (IERS) for Design and Construction of Elevated Viaduct (Single/
 Double Line) and Six Stations for Rapid Metro Rail Gurgaon Ltd. for a
 total value of Rs. 185.32 Crores.

This Project needs to be
 completed within a period of 21 months.
 
 2011
 
 - Maytas Infra Ltd has informed BSE that the name of Maytas Infra
 Ltd. has been changed as IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company
 Limited with effect from January 07, 2011.
 
 - IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Ltd has informed BSE
 that pursuant to section 257 and other applicable provisions of the
 Companies Act, 1956 and the other of the Hon'ble Company Law Board
 dated November 04, 2010, the shareholders of the Company approved the
 appointment of Mr. Saleh Mohammed Binladin, Mr. Mu'taz Sawwaf, Mr.
 Akberali Mohamedali Moawalla and Mr. Ahmad Mohamad Dabbous as
 directors of the Company at the Annual General Meeting held on
 September 13, 2011.
