The present project is being implemented with technical and financial
 collaboration with AVX Corporation, U.S.A.
 
 Gujarat Poly-AVX Electronics Limited was incorporated on 14th
 September, 1989 as a private limited company and was converted into a
 public limited company on 15th November, 1989.  The Registered office
 of the Company has been shifted to B/17-18, Gandhinagar Electronic
 Estate, Gandhinagar 382 044, Gujarat from Plot No. 18, GIDC
 Industrial Estate, PCC Area, Baroda 391 346, with effect from 22nd
 April, 1992 for the sake of administrative convenience as the Company
 is putting up the plant at Gandhinagar.
 
 The Company was incorporated with an object to manufacture electronic
 components.  The Company has received a letter of intent from
 Government of India for the manufacture of Multilayer Ceramic
 Capacitor Chips and Leaded Types - Radial and Axial.  For that
 purpose, the Company has acquired land at Gandhinagar Electronic
 Estate at Gandhinagar in the State of Gujarat and is scheduled to
 commence production by December 1992.
 
 PROMOTERS
 The Company is promoted by Polychem Limited, AVX Corporation of
 U.S.A. and Gujarat Industrial and Investment Corporation Limited
 (GIIC) the associate sector.
 
 Polychem Limited was incorporated in 1955 as a single product company
 and is a pioneer in the production of Polystyrene in India.
 
 AVX Corporation U.S.A. (AVX) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyocera
 Corporation, Japan.  AVX is a well known manufacturer of MLC
 Capacitors, tantalum capacitors and glass capacitors.  
 
 GIIC has been an effective catalyst in Industrial Development in
 Gujarat.  GIIC has promoted nearly 90 projects in various sectors. 
 GIIC will be contributing 8.25% of the equity capital of the Company.
