Besta Vision Electronics Ltd. (BVEL) was originally incorporated on August 1, 1985 in the Union Teritory of New Delhi as a private limited company and was converted into public limited company on January 2, 1986 and obtained fresh certificate of incorporation on 7th January, 1986. The company was originally promoted by Mr. A.C. Bajaj. The present management took-over the affairs of the company in April, 1987. Since then, it is engaged in the manufacturing of colour and B&W televisions. Later, it added Black & White Picture Tubes & Video sets in its product range. Presently Company is marketing its products under the Brand name of `BESTAVISION', `TEXLA' and `GOLDSTAR'. M/s. Mullard Tubes Ltd., a closely-held group company, engaged in the manufacture of B&W picture tubes at Ludhiana since 1986, was merged with BVEL with effect from 1.1.1993 in terms of a scheme of merger approved by BIFR vide its order dated 29.4.1994 and 27.6.1994. As per the scheme of merger, the shareholders of Mullard Tubes Ltd were allotted one share of BVEL for every share held. BVEL entered into brand licensing and technological assistance tie-up with world renowned GOLDSTAR CO.LTD of South Korea on 5th August, 1993 for manufacture and marketing of colour television sets under their brand name of `GOLDSTAR' in India. | |
