YEAR                       EVENTS
 1978 - The Company was incorporated on 29th April.  The objects is
 to
        manufacture and deal in hygiene products and to carry on
        trading and agency business.
 
 1979 - The name of the Company was changed from Mahi Trading &
 Commerce
        Ltd., to Balsara Hygiene Products Ltd.
 
 1980 - The Company was a 10% partner in M/s. Balsara Hygiene
 Products,
        a partnership firm.  This partnership firm was entirely taken
        over by the Company with effect from 1st July.
 
      - 20,000 No. of shares taken up by promoters, directors etc.
        30,000 shares offered at par to the public in November 1978.
 
      - 30,850 shares issued without payment in cash.
 
 1983 - The Company decided to take over the function of the Company's
 
        distributors Balsara & Company (Pvt.) Ltd., and a Scheme of 
        Amalgamation was under preparation.  The Scheme of
 Amalgamation 
        of Balsara and Company (Pvt.) Ltd., with the Company was 
        approved by the High Courts of Bangalore and Mumbai and the 
        merger became effective on 30th September.
 
 1985 - A Laboratory and Research Centre was developed for conducting
        research in herbs and medicinal plants for improving dental 
        health.
 
 1986 - In October 80,850 bonus shares issued in Prop. 1:1.
 
 1987 - The Company launched successfully ODOMOS Mats and Device as
 well 
        as BABOOL toothpaste.
 
 1989 - 1,61,700 bonus shares issued in prop. 1:1.
 
 1991 - 3,23,400 Bonus shares issued in prop. 1:1.
 
 1993 - The Company launched `Promise - Just for kids' a special 
        toothpaste for kids and `Odopic Bar'.
 
 1994 - 32,34,000 Bonus shares issued in prop. 5:1.
 
 2000 - The Company has  launched Promise Gel toothpaste.
