Bajwa Agro Industries Limited was originally incorporated on 24th
March, 1993 under the Companies Act, 1956 as a Public Limited Company
in the name of Bajwa Agro Oil Limited. The company has obtained a
Certificate for Commencement of Business on 18th June, 1993.
Subsequently, the shareholders of the company passed a special
resolution in Annual General Meeting of the company held on 30.9.1994
and the name of the company was changed to Bajwa Agro Industries
Limited w.e.f. 3.10.1994.
The main objects of the company as set out in the Memorandum and
Articles of the company are reproduced below:-
1. To set up oil seeds, Bran Seed Cakes processing complex for
expelling, extraction and refining of oils by mechanical, electrical
and/or chemical means from all or any of the kind and/or type of
commodities viz rice bran, all type of oil cakes and all kinds of oil
bearing seeds and nuts.
2. To manufacture, process, refine, prepare, crush, extract,
hydrogenate, sell, buy, import, export or otherwise deal in all kinds
of crude oil, refined oil, edible oil, non-edible oil, perfumed oil
and extracting by-products thereof.
3. To manufacture oil derivatives, acid slury, refine, prepare,
treat, purchase, sell, import, export, store, distribute or otherwise
deal in rice bran, oil cakes and seeds, nuts, soaps, vegetable ghee
and deoiled brans,perfumery and all kinds of by-products and
The company proposes to set up an integrated vegetable seed oil
processing complex comprising a 150 tpd Oil Mill, 150 tpd Solvent
Extraction Plant and a 60 tpd Vegetable Oil Refinery at village
Qadian, Distt. Gurdaspur in the state of Punjab.
The project is envisaged in the edible oil industry. Edible oils form
one of the main ingredients in preparation of foods and are used
worldwide. The major Companies in the field are ITC Agro Tech, Jayant
Agro, Kothari Global, Ruchi Soya, Tinna Oils etc.
In India, the nine major seeds which mainly contribute to the
production of edible oil, are Groundnut,Mustard/Rapeseed, Soyabean,
Sunflower, Sunflower,Nigerseed, Casterseed and Linseed. The company
use Sunflower and Mustard/Rapeseed Oilseeds to produce edible oil.
