YEAR EVENTS
1944 - The company was incorporated at Baroda. The main objective
of
the company is to manufacture glass and glass products.
1957 - Issued 5,000 Rights shares at par in prop. 1:4.
1960 - Issued 11,080 Bonus shares in prop. 1:2. Another 11,080
shares
issued (prem. Rs. 50 per share).
1962 - Issued 9,849 Rights shares at par in prop. 2:9. 151 shares
offered to charitable/educational institutions.
1963 - Issued 9,877 No. of equity shares at par.
1964 - Issued 21,399 No. of equity shares at par.
1966 - 42,798 Bonus shares issued in prop. 1:2.
1970 - 64,196 Bonus shares issued in prop. 1:2.
1975 - 64,196 Bonus shares issued in prop. 1:3.
1985 - Certain land and buildings of the Baroda plant were revalued
as
on 31st December.
1987 - Production and sales further declined to 8,518 tonnes,
respectively mainly due to strike by workers from 2nd
January.
As per an agreement reached, the Baroda unit was transferred
to
Dharshak Ltd., effective from 1st August.
1988 - The company was preparing a rehabilitation package including
modernisation plant of the pressed ware unit. It had already
introduced pressed ware machine in double gob mechanism which
was
functioning satisfactorily. On one MDP machine, fully
automatic
handling system, was installed for better efficiency and
increase
in speed of operation on machine.
1989 - The furnace of pressedware units was under repair and
rebuilding
which resulted in loss of production for two months.
1990 - In October, the regenerative furnace was commissioned.
1993 - During the year, operations were affected due to
non-availability
of gas in the first few months.
1996 - With a view to reduce the fuel consumption and to increase
productivity, the Company took up a project to install a
regenerative furnace at one of the manufacturing units at
Vadodara plant |
