1. The results have been taken on record by the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held on April 22, 2009. 2. During the quarter and year ended March 31, 2009, the Bank allotted nil shares and 1,189,180 shares respectively pursuant to the exercise of stock options by certain employees. 3. During the quarter ended March 31, 2009, the Bank has raised Tier I capital (Innovative Perpetual Debt Instruments) of Rs 1,540 million. During the year ended March 31, 2009, the Bank has raised Upper Tier II capital of Rs 5,430.4 million and Tier I capital (Innovative Perpetual Debt instruments) of Rs 1,754.4 million. 4. Other income includes non fund based income such as commission earned from guarantees/letters of credit, investment banking fees, selling of third party products, gains from foreign exchange transactions and gains from sale of securities. 5. Previous Period figures have been regrouped wherever necessary to conform to current period classification. 6. Return on assets is computed using a simple average of total assets at the beginning and at the end of the relevant period. 7. RBI vide its circular DBOD.No.BP.BC.90/20.06.001/2006-07 dated April 27, 2007 advised all commercial banks not having operational presence outside India to compute capital adequacy ratio (CAR) in accordance with the new capital adequacy framework (Basel II) effective March 31 2009. The capital adequacy ratio as at March 31, 2009 disclosed above has been computed as per Basel II whereas the CAR as at March 31, 2008 disclosed above has been computed as per Basel I and hence the previous year´s figures are not comparable. The capital adequacy ratio of the Bank as at March 31, 2009 as per Basel I accord is 14.53%. Segment Treasury - Includes investments, all financial markets activities undertaken on behalf of the Bank´s customers, proprietary trading, maintenance of reserve requirements and resource mobilisation from other banks and financial institutions. Corporate Banking - Includes lending, deposit taking and other services offered to corporate customers. Retail Banking - Includes lending, deposit taking and other services offered to retail customers.
