The new year has begun significantly for 
 us at Deccan. Our first hangar, also the first 
 to be built by any private airline in Southern 
 India, was inaugurated in Chennai this January. 
 Equipped to provide state of the art maintenance 
 and assembly services for our Airbus and ATR fleet, 
 the hangar will strengthen our infrastructure and 
 engineering competencies. With our own hangar in 
 place we will be able to greatly reduce the 
 downtime of our aircraft and improve on time 
 performance which is crucial to our growth strategy. 
 
 At the airports, the call centre or in flight you 
 would have noticed that the new Deccan is not just 
 a cosmetic change, it is undoubtedly a change from 
 within.
  
 We have moved away from outsourced staff to placing 
 our own employees in every area of airport services. 
 Our staff is hand picked and extensively trained 
 which makes a world of difference towards enhancing 
 your check in experience.
 
 Many of our passengers have written to me, 
 concerned about the future of Deccan’s low cost 
 business model following our merger with Kingfisher 
 Airlines. The fact of the matter is that the 
 Deccan  Kingfisher combine will cater to both 
 passenger segments  premium as well as value based. 
 The Indian traveler can indeed look forward to 
 unmatched air connectivity, a great experience

 Personally it is heartening to see requests for
 launching new flights pouring in from various quarters. 
 Launching a new flight involves considerable 
 infrastructure preparation and several months of 
 planning and ground work. Our new flight connecting 
 Kolkata to Jaipur will provide direct linkage between 
 the two cities for large numbers business and 
 leisure travelers.
