1. Background: Bharti Telecom Limited (the Company) is a part of Bharti Group. The Company is not carrying on any direct operational activities. Primary activities of the Company are holding investment in Bharti Airtel Limited. The shareholding of the Company in Bharti Airtel Limited as at March 31, 2009 is 45.30 per cent [March 31, 2008 - 45.31 per cent]. 2. Contingent liabilities Claims against the Company not acknowledged as debts: Nil (March 31, 2008-Nil) 3. The Company has given an undertaking to financial institutions for non-disposal of its shareholding in Bharti Airtel Limited (BAL) to the extent of 26% of the total outstanding share capital of BAL in consideration of financial assistance given to BAL by financial institutions. 4. Segment Reporting: Since the Companys business activity falls within a single business and geographical segment of holding investments, there are no additional disclosure to be provided under Accounting Standard-17 Segment reporting other than those already provided in financial statement. 5. Related Party Disclosures: In accordance with the requirement of Accounting Standard (AS-18) on Related Party Disclosures, the names of the related parties where control exists and/or with whom transactions have taken place during the year and description of relationship, as identified and certified by the management are: 6.
